Dogs are not allowed on certain beaches from 1 May to 30 September each year. During this time period dogs must also be kept on a lead on promenades adjacent to the beaches where dogs are not allowed.

We understand the importance of assistance dogs in supporting their owners' daily activities and well-being. In line with our commitment to accessibility, working/assistance dogs are permitted on Torbay beaches, even during the summer period when general dog bans are in effect.

To ensure a comfortable experience for everyone on the beach, we kindly request that any assistance dog accompanying its owner is clearly marked with a vest or harness that identifies it as a working animal. This helps to inform other beachgoers and ensures that the presence of the dog is understood and welcomed.

At all times, if your dog is excitable or doesn’t respond well to your commands, it should be kept on a lead regardless of whether it is on a beach or a promenade. Dog poo must be picked up on beaches, just like everywhere else. Please report dog fouling issues to us.

Check the lists below to see where and when you can exercise your dog.

Dogs are not allowed on the following beaches between 1 May and 30 September.
