Torquay Harbour Slipway

Slipway Use

There are two slipways in Brixham harbour, at the southern end of Oxen Cove car park and next to the Breakwater Hard, located at the south eastern corner of the harbour. These provide access to deep water at all states of the tide.
Torquay’s main slipway is on Beacon Quay, giving straightforward access to visitor pontoons and the harbour entrance
There are two slipways at Paignton. The low tide reveals the foot of the slipways and sand beyond. This is normally fairly firm and use of the slipway during these times is possible with a degree of caution and a suitable vehicle like a 4x4.

Tor Bay Harbour charges the following for use of the slipway:
Length of BoatDaily Charge
Up to 4m£10.00-
4m - 5.5m£11.00
5.5m - 7m£12.00
7m - 15m £1.94 / m
There are seperate charges for Jet Skis wishing to use the slipway.

Slipways are often busy during the summer season and could be dangerous if you gloss over some simple guidelines. Please ensure you use the slipways safely and follow the advice given on the Slipway Safety page.

Please note that slipways may be closed during large maritime events. Please contact the relevant Harbour Office for more details.
