Brixham Harbour Moorings

Moorings

Tor Bay harbour offers a wide range of permanent (annual) berths and moorings within the enclosed harbours.

Torquay

Torquay outer harbour features the ‘Town Dock’ which comprises of pontoon finger berthing for leisure vessels up to 12 metres loa and a small selection of larger commercial craft. The Town Dock caters for 170 berths arranged in 6m, 8m, 10m and 12m plus a small selection of PWC (Jet Ski) pods. The pontoons are firmly aimed at providing affordable berthing and the facility is occupied and enjoyed by the local community. This also creates a venue for an increasing number of visiting yachtsmen to Torquay with a visitors’ pontoon, which doubles as a Maritime Events area. Water and electric points are located on the pontoons. The facility has coded access and is not available to the general public, thereby maintaining security and privacy.
Occupancy is currently full with a limited waiting list for each size of berth.
Torquay Marina (MDL) opens in a new window is also resident in the outer harbour.

Commercial

Commercial pontoons lie in the outer harbour alongside Princess Pier nearby the Princess Theatre, providing for Passenger / Pleasure boats, Fishing Boats (MFV’s) Angling and Dive boat. A commercial waiting list applies for this facility.  Please contact the Torquay Harbour Office for more information.

Inner Harbour

Torquay inner harbour features a cill, which impounds the water at half tide level and provides 170 Fore & aft ‘trot’ moorings suitable for leisure craft up to 9.14m loa. Please enquire at the Torquay Harbour Office for availability or waiting list information. During the 2013/14 season, these trots will be modernized and replaced with pontoon finger berths.

Paignton

Paignton Harbour provides 91 recreational moorings, a majority of which cater for craft up to 20’.  There are also 30 outhaul moorings for smaller boats on the harbourside.
Larger trot moorings for vessels up to 9.14 m and commercial ‘alongside’ berths are in high demand and waiting lists often apply, so please enquire at the Harbour Office for availability.
Make sure your vessel is suitable for drying out on its mooring!

Brixham

Brixham’s outer harbour comprises largely of swinging moorings, divided by the central fairway.  
Moorings found on the Oxen Cove side of the main fairway cater for vessels from 20 feet up to 100 feet loa. Vessels located within the Breakwater side of the Fairway are generally up to 70 feet loa.

Inner Harbour

The inner harbour at Brixham is tidal, so boat movement is restricted at low tide. This area offers fifty ‘fore and aft’ moorings for vessels up to 35 feet long.
